Lichen Estate
Pull off the side of Highway 128 and make some time for car-watching against a dramatic backdrop of redwoods on foothills. After the switchback-laiden drive from Sonoma County to Anderson Valley, Lichen Estate is often one of our first stops.
Lichen Estate is a great place for someone who enjoys an interesting line-up of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir- with even a bubbly version of the former! It was a warm day when we tasted, so the Blanc de Gris was a welcome addition to our line-up:
We decided on the 2017 Estate Pinot. It had this earthy, spicy nose. The progression was complex moving from what could only be characterized as “strawcherry (very technical term)” to a finish of more spice and damp earth.
