Lula Cellars

Nestled at the Deep End of Anderson Valley, Lula is one of our favorite stops whenever we make a pilgrimage to the area. The wine is outstanding and the people pouring your tastings know how to make you feel like you’re part of the crew.

This is a spot for Pinot Noir and maybe another varietal or two. We tried five pinots, a rosé, and the “Guntly” Red blend, which is a unique blend of pinot noir and cabernet.

We thought the 2018 Peterson was going to be our reviewed wine and even wrote one halfway through the tasting. After a brief marital wine spat, we decided on the 2018 Lula instead. For us, this was a classic Anderson Valley Pinot Noir for the books. The nose was full of cherry. As you tasted, you had this velvety mouthfeel with a rhubarb on the front and a hint of chocolate and cola on the finish.
