Limerick Lane
The namesake of the road that hosts it, Limerick Lane is another great Windsor/Healdsburg find. While we are locals, stepping onto the property of this winery makes you FEEL like a local. The property sits in a little bowl that rolls up and over onto the foothills that narrowly escaped the 2019 fires in the area. The tasting room is quaint and really well-done. Our host brought us out into the vineyards and we had great time tasting fruit still on the vine and learning more about how Limerick Lane makes the magic happen. Here was the line-up:
Breaking our promise to ourselves (as usual), we parted with several bottles. Our fave was the 1910 Block - aptly named for the fact that the vineyard from which this wine was produced was planted in 1910…crazy. Lots of zinging, black peppercorn on the nose, which nicely complemented the start, which had overtones of dark fruit…especially plum. Mid-palate was velvety and well-balanced with nice acid. The finish lingered and made you dream of some of grilled meat dish. Go!
