Mauritson Wines
An industrial, farm country chic tasting room greets you with accommodating outdoor seating for those who are so inclined. Mauritson Winery sits nestled at the bottom of a hill just as you turn into the main expanse of Dry Creek Valley. We went here years ago and decided it was time for a “revisit.”
The tasting line-up did not disappoint. We love what Mauritson does with Zin. Oh, and the Rockpile Cab, duh:
Our personal fave was the 2019 Pritchett Peaks Zin. The nose was composed of a nice blend of dried prune and chocolate. The start transitioned from dried prune to slightly fruity plum and finished with an essence of black pepper, chocolate and just a hint of that same plum profile. Definitely one for the rack!
